Senior
editor William Swanson is involved
in story planning, development, and editing. He also writes five or six major
feature stories for the magazine a year. Before joining the magazine, in January
1997, Bill spent more than thirteen years as a freelance writer, editor, and
consultant for a variety of publications and corporations. Prior to that, he was
managing editor of
Corporate Report magazine and founding editor of
Twin Cities magazine. A journalism and English major at the University of
Minnesota, he has won several regional and national honors, including the City
and Regional Magazine Association’s Gold Award for writing excellence. Bill’s
new book,
Dial M: The Murder of Carol Thompson—a true account of the Twin
Cities’ most notorious homicide—was published in March by Borealis Books. Bill
and his wife, Libby, live in Minneapolis's Linden Hills neighborhood.
