Associate editor Melissa Colgan contributes to Mpls.St.Paul’s LifeStyle, Homes, and Dining Out departments. Originally from Wisconsin, her love for fashion, beauty, interior design, and magazines manifested early on with stacks of her mother’s Vogues and an obsession with touring model homes. Melissa moved to the Cities in 2001 to attend the University of Minnesota’s journalism school, where she graduated in May 2006. Before starting at Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, she interned at Mall of America, assisting in media segments, fashion shows, and the development of advertising campaigns, an opportunity that helped her get her hands in and around local retail. She currently stores her stacks of magazines and ever-expanding collection of new and vintage clothing in a charming East Isles brownstone.
