Internship Opportunities
Internships may be available in the following areas: sales, marketing, event planning, accounting, circulation, and IS.  For information on editorial internships, see below.

We offer spring (January through mid-May), summer (mid-May through August), and fall (September through December) paid ($8/hour) part-time and full-time internships.  There is some flexibility in the starting and ending dates, but the internships essentially follow a semester-based academic calendar.

Editorial Intern
Full- and part-time internships are available year-round in the editorial departments of MSP Communications, which publishes Mpls.St.Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business, in addition to several custom publications.

Job Description:  The position involves fact-checking, participating in staff meetings and projects, writing, and editing. Interns finesse research and reporting/editing skills and get an inside look at the workings of a monthly publication.

Start Dates:  Vary, depending on internship.

Requirements:  Eagerness, willingness to learn, and interest in magazine journalism; experience at a student publication is helpful.

At Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, the position involves fact-checking, participating in staff meetings and projects, and writing and editing parts of the Arts & Entertainment section.

Online Intern
Full- and part-time internships are available year-round in the digital media department of MSP Communications, which produces Mpls.St.Paul Magazine’s mspmag.com and Twin Cities Business’s tcbmag.com, in addition to several custom websites.

Job Description: The position involves writing teases and keywords, optimizing and creating images, beta testing functionality of new rollouts, and stripping and loading articles in a content management system. Video editing and production experience a plus. Interns will participate in staff meetings and projects and get an inside look at the workings of daily produced websites.

Start Dates: Vary, depending on internship.

Requirements: Eagerness, willingness to learn, and interest in online media; web editing, production, and/or design experience is helpful.
