Northeast Social

June 16, 2009

This charming storefront on the same block as Modern Cafe boasts a restored tin ceiling that may be the most beautiful in Minneapolis. Architecture aside, it also boasts an eclectic menu of dishes with a global reach that have the added asset of not being on menus all over town, such as Welsh rarebit and St. Louis-style pork ribs. There’s a sharp wine and drinks list and a big bar, but Northeast Social is really a bistro—more elegant and mannered that the Modern, but not pretentious or fancy. Can we now call 13th Ave. Northeast’s “eat street?”

I've been here several times and had a great time. Food is very good, unusual items on the menu, and the service couldn't bet better! Love to socialize in the 'hood!
