These gourmet Mexican sandwiches are served on toasted French bread and slathered in chipotle mayonnaise. The eggs and chorizo version makes a bang-up breakfast, with just the right amount of spice. (Pair it with a Coke for the ideal hangover cure.) Manny’s Special isn’t for the faint of heart, as it packs chunks of steak and slices of ham topped with melted Swiss cheese. Manny’s does stoop to one vegetarian version with sautéed veggies that’s worth the money. Speaking of money, that’s the best part—nothing tops $6.50. Each torta arrives topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, avocado, jalapeños, refried beans, and melted cheese—all of that plus a gratis bag of chips. Wine, beer, coffee, and soda (including Jarritos) are available, and there’s a small selection of salads, soups, and desserts, including flan and rice pudding.
