Abu Nader Deli serves simple but superb Middle Eastern classics-from the area's best falafel sandwich topped with homemade turnip pickles to incredible homemade pita bread, hummus, tabbouleh, baba gannouj, and spinach pies. Meatatarians will love the schwarma. And the food at Abu Nader costs almost nada.

Unfortunately, we were not as wowed as Zimmern. We think Holyland's food overall rates much better than Abu Nader.

Our son loves the tabbouleh, the falafel, and the pita-handmade and baked twice daily. Sandwiches and the homemade turnip pickles are delicious and the Ailabouni family makes a killer panoply of hand pies.

Abu Nader's pockets have a fine, dense texture, making them sturdy yet tender containers for sloppy sandwiches like homemade falafel and shawirma (gyros). They're also wonderful foils for the deli's smoky, succulent baba ghanoush and tangy hummus.
