The gnocchi were wonderful - perfectly made (light but not fluffy) and the sauce was, well, all about garlic, and butter too. The dish was quite indulgent but good. I would love to revisit it with some fresh morels.

But the level of cuisine is many notches above the typical "red sauce" restaurant, where everything tastes the same because everything is smothered in the same heavy-handed tomato sauce.

Al Vento was a great place to go on a beautiful Sunday night. They have nice patio and we were able to sit out there and enjoy the great weather. A glass of Prosecco, a beautiful evening, it is hard to beat.

Just try his spaghetti with veal meatballs, with each long pasta rope veiled in his robust, herb-and-garlic-scented tomato sauce. That dish alone is worth the effort of finding this off-the-beaten-path charmer, located near Minnehaha Park.

The place is small and cozy, ideal for a nice romantic dinner. Some of their tables, however, are a little too close together and the restaurant is pretty loud so it's hard to have a conversation.
