Café LurçatEditor's Choice |

$$$ | New American
Café Lurçat is the best combination of upscale trappings, fine service, and accessible food in the Twin Cities. It's a refined, quasi-luxury experience at less-than-luxury prices. Adam King's menu has evolved from Isaac Becker's days, but you can always count on a great hanger steak or pot roast. All the details are faultless in the Cafe, from the crisp and yielding baguettes served with whipped soft butter to the wonderful copper serving vessels to one of the best wine selections in the city, much of it available by the glass. Bar and Cafe Lurçat continue to define what makes eating out so pleasurable.

Although some of the courses were slow to appear ... it is by far the best service I have had since returning to Minneapolis. Water glasses were always full, dishes were served by multiple servers in coordinated timing and our server was always available when needed. It was such a pleasant experience!!

Thanks to windows that open out to Loring Park, expect "fabulous" views that regulars say are part of the charm of this "cool" venue where "delicious" New American food emerges from the open kitchen and the "lively" bar is a scene ...

The Bar Lurcat cheese plate was a very pretty cheese plate with about five kinds of cheese and some fruit accessories. I particularly liked the honey comb and honey, which tasted perfect with the cheese that it was plated next to.

White-on-white accents (chair covers, lampshades, tablecloths) put the focus where it should be: on the showcase views of pretty Loring Park --- and provide a nice backdrop for the beautiful clientele that frequents the place.
