The classic pho tai, a sturdy broth loaded with rice stick noodles and crowned with paper-thin shavings of raw beef, which cook as the dish makes its way from the kitchen to the table, is as good a barometer of quality as I can imagine-Que Nha's is the local exemplar. Ditto hot and spicy chicken with lemongrass, a perfect balance of sweet, salty, sour, and spicy.

I was very happy with the food and prices at Que Nha as well. The Juhon pork spring rolls had a marinated pork that was delicious. Likewise, the barbecue pork was very good, and the meat serving was generous. Spices and flavors in both courses were right on.

In contrast to the majority of its competitors, newcomer Que Nha's ambitious menu ranges far and wide: from do-it-yourself spring rolls and earthen-pot casseroles to grilled whole catfish and hot and spicy goat. This unassuming café is notably clean and has a friendly feel.
