The edgy, artsy Chambers hotel with its minimalist design and contemporary art is the perfect canvas for the edible art created by internationally renowned chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a see-and-be-seen bar for late night cocktails, Chambers Kitchen features modern American cuisine with an Asian flair and an emphatic commitment to fresh, seasonal, and locally grown ingredients.
Culinary Superstar
One of only four, three-star Michelin chefs living in the United States, Jean-Georges has earned numerous four-star reviews from the New York Times for his elite group of restaurants and is known throughout the food world by his first name, earning him the moniker of “Madonna of the Kitchen,” from Newsweek magazine. Now his latest creation, Chambers Kitchen, is “the stone-cold lock for restaurant opening of the year,” according to food celebrity and restaurant critic, Andrew Zimmern.
Talent
Vongerichten has top talent to managing his kitchen. Executive Chef Joshua Nudd specializes in Asian-inspired, international cuisine and has held posts at numerous five-star and five-diamond restaurant establishments including The Belvedere and Spago, both in Beverly Hills, Calif. A native of France, Pastry Chef Christopher Szczeniowski is a transfer from within the Jean-George restaurant empire, having previously worked at two Vongerichten establishments, Jean Georges and Nougatine, both in New York City.
Setting
The restaurant’s sleek, minimalist design is dominated by Damien Hirst prints and paintings by Ashley Bickerton and Will Cotton; pieces hand-selected by art collector/hotel owner Ralph Burnet, who, along with his wife Peggy, was recently named one of the world’s top 200 art collectors.
The design and décor of the dining room are intentionally subdued, a subtle acknowledgement that the real art in this space is the food.
