Real Moments: Bob Dylan (photographs of Bob Dylan, 1966-1974)
By Barry Feinstein, Omnibus Press, 2008, 159 pages, $34.95 Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be anything to add to the iconography of Bob Dylan, legendary photographer Barry Feinstein—who took the pensive cover photo of young Bob on his 1964 album, Times They are a Changin’—has sifted through his drawers and “discovered” a whole book’s worth of behind-the-scene photos from Dylan’s European tour of 1966 and U.S. tour of 1974. What’s remarkable about these photos, many of which have never been published before, is their casual intimacy. They capture of the essence of Bob Dylan, the man, at a point in history when he was swiftly becoming the poet/prophet of his generation.
