Jazz vocalist Christine Rosholt and several special guests pay homage to one of America’s most beloved songwriters, Harold Arlen. Presented by the Twin Cities Jazz Society’s J to Z Series, My Shining Hour: A Tribute to the Music of Harold Arlen revisits favorites from the great American songbook.

About Harold Arlen: The song you’re singing or humming to yourself right now probably was written by Arlen. Best known for composing the music for The Wizard of Oz, including “Over the Rainbow,” he has more than 400 songs to his credit—“Come Rain or Come Shine,” “It’s Only a Paper Moon,” “Stormy Weather,” and “Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive” are among them.

About Christine Rosholt: In 2002, the versatile and accomplished jazz vocalist combined her two loves—theatrical performance and jazz—and regularly appears at clubs around the Twin Cities.

About the Band: Guest vocalists Connie Olson and Bruce A. Henry are joined by musicians Rick Carlson (piano), Keith Boyles (bass), and Jay Epstein (drums).

About the Host: The Twin Cities Jazz Society is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that’s supported by membership donations and dedicated to promoting jazz music and local musicians.
