In 2008, more than thirty arts organizations are celebrating an anniversary of some sort, representing thousands of plays, exhibits, and events. These photos represent just small sample of work presented in the Twin Cities throughout the past fifty years, from organizations as diverse as the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Walker Art Center, Frank Theatre, and Dudley Riggs’s Brave New Workshop.
(Editor’s note: Photos 24-33 constitute a special tribute to past productions of Theatre de la Jeune Lune, one of the Twin Cities’ most renown theater companies. Jeune Lune announced in June that it was closing its doors due to insurmountable debt. Had it survived, Jeune Lune would have celebrated its thirtieth anniversary this year.)
