F. Scott Fitzgerald lived in St. Paul at various times and locations from his birth in 1896 until 1922. He lived on the aristocratic Summit Avenue while revising The Romantic Egotist, which became the best-selling This Side of Paradise. By the fall of 1920, Fitzgerald was one of the nation’s leading authors. This statue of Fitzgerald, by Michael Price, stands on the north side of Rice Park, across from the Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul.
