Cajibracan

August 2007

Located in St. Paul’s Hamline Park at the corner of Snelling and Thomas Avenues, Cajibracan was created by Peter Morales, whose work is inspired by the monumental Mesoamerican stone sculptures from Guatemala’s pre-Columbian era. Morales, a native of Guatemala, settled in St. Paul in his twenties and created this wide-eyed mythological creature for last year’s Minnesota Rocks! International Stone Carving Symposium.
