Philadelphia sculptor Donald Lipski had students at the MacPhail Center for Music engrave their names into the surface of twelve real violins, which he then arranged in a circle above the third-floor fireplace at the Central Library in Minneapolis. The obscure title of the piece, Lorelei Club, refers to a women’s choral group started in 1892 at Plymouth Church, a congregation with deep roots in traditional Minnesota music. 300 Nicollet Mall, Mpls.
