Response to Rising Crime
In August, in the middle of our highly publicized summer crime wave, three dudes forced their way into an apartment building on 31st and Lyndale in south Minneapolis and attempted to rob the apartment-dwellers at gunpoint. But one of the robbees refused to cooperate. After wrestling his decorative Samurai sword from one of the intruders, thirty-six-year-old sometime photographer John X (last name withheld out of concern for safety) transformed into The Bride just long enough to go all Tarantino on his would-be assailants. “I’ve never taken even one kung fu class,” John said. “Instinct took over.”
