Take one look at Molly Woodland’s custom stationery, cards, and invitations, and it’s obvious she has a background as a graphic designer. “All of my designs are on a white background. I wanted that element of consistency and I want everything to look crisp,” Woodland explains. But that doesn’t mean her designs are minimalist. With motifs referenced from vintage wallpapers, lush textiles, old clip art and letterpress molds, and packaging unearthed at antique shops, Woodland’s tactile designs—she uses raised thermographic inks in bright colors—have a rich graphic feel that manage to appear at once vintage and modern. “I take details from antique and vintage patterns, and use my background in graphic design to mix patterns and create a repeat.” While Woodland does have a stock of designs available to order from her website (starting at $2.50), she also works with custom clients on everything from wedding invitations and business cards to tags for clothing and jewelry designers. In addition to rich hues and lively motifs, her designs feature hand-stitched details and distinguished envelopes. 612-270-2960, apiarydesign.com
