Nickelodeon Universe
Gone is the Peanuts gang we’ve come to know so well, but more familiar faces— Dora, the Backyardigans, and everyone’s favorite talking sponge—have come to the rescue, and brought along a few new rides. Mall of America, 952-883-8600

Como Conservatory
It’s always dry (well, except for the occasional mist for the plants) under the historic glass dome of the conservatory. Head inside at Como to see the exotic array of flowers, plants, trees, and even a few animals. And, a new permanent, indoor children’s gallery offers hands-on activities. 1225 Estabrook Dr., St. Paul, 651-487-8201

Twins Game
We still have indoor baseball for now—so no rainouts! See the boys of summer rain or shine at the Dome, and grab a seat in the family section, where a ticket gets you a seat, a soda, and a hotdog. 34 Kirby Puckett Pl., Mpls., 612-338-9467

Children’s Theatre Company
For its summer season, the CTC brings back two favorites, this winter’s smash hit If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (July 8–20)and the fantastical adventures of a pirate captain’s wife, The Magic Mrs. Piggle–Wiggle (Through June 15). 2400 3rd Ave. S., Mpls., 612-874-0400

Minnesota Children’s Museum
Worried about the kids becoming couch potatoes on those rainy days? Run! Jump! Fly! Adventures in Action is the perfect cure. With a Kung Fu Forest, Climbing Canyon, and Action Star Training, kids can (safely) learn the skills needed for all ranges of play—without using the living room couch as a balance beam. 10 W. 7th St., St. Paul, 651-225-6000
