Your day begins by rolling out of bed after only a few hours of sleep. You shower, dress, grab a Pop-Tart, and race out the door. Another exhausting day of work lies ahead—hours in front of the computer, crunching numbers, sitting in meetings, hammering out solutions for problem after problem. You finally head home at 8 p.m., smoking a cigarette as you sit in traffic, too exhausted to go to the gym or to prepare a nutritious dinner. Looks like another night of frozen pizza, wine, and a couple hours in front of the tube before you doze off and start all over again.
None of us sets out to live an unhealthy life. But before you know it, bad habits become routine. You get stuck in a rut of poor eating and not exercising, of constantly feeling overworked and unfulfilled. Eventually you begin to wonder, am I really getting the most out of life? Am I in need of a total body detox?
Though making changes seems daunting, sometimes it’s as simple as rethinking your grocery list, reworking your schedule, or adding a few minutes of exercise to your day. Each week, we’ll offer new ways to approach nutrition, fitness, wellness, and physical health to create a more fulfilling and healthy life one step at a time.
