PROJECT: Edgewater Condominium build-out
FIRM: Streeter & Associates and ALTUS Architecture + Design, with staging by Room & Board
WHY WE LOVE IT: Good bones. Timeless finishes. One-stop shopping.

Perched on the third floor with sweeping corner views of Lake Calhoun, Uptown, and downtown Minneapolis, this 2,200-square-foot loft embodies modern city living with a stylish twist. To maximize natural light and play off the surrounding organic elements (hello, Lake Calhoun in your backyard), the interior’s cement beams mingle with Venetian plastered walls, white lacquer cabinetry, and high-luster walnut floors. “We wanted the look to be clean and warm with light and air floating through the space,” says Steven Streeter of Streeter & Associates.

Streeter brought in Room & Board to add life, dimension, and charm to the space to help prospective buyers better envision loft living (the condo is currently on the market for $1.499 million). The space is ideal for someone with modern décor sensibilities, as are the staging elements: A cowhide rug, reclaimed wood statues, and a charcoal-grey wool Hans Wegner wing chair add texture while lustrous white dining seating and a marble-topped table mimic the loft’s modern architectural details.

Ideas to Steal...

white chairChairs
We’re drawn to how the white lacquer dining chairs play off the custom cabinetry while adding dimension to the dining table. Tiffany chair by Casprini ($199), from Room & Board, 7010 France Ave. S., Edina, 952-927-8835, roomandboard.com

Clean counters beg for a dash of whimsy. We’d add a brightly colored cookie jar. Wise Ol’ Cookie Jar ($128), from Anthropologie, The Shops at West End, 763-544-2053; Edina, 612-285- 9164; The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes, 763-416-1447, anthropologie.com

Add a dose of color to the neutral tones with a chartreuse side table. Plus, come summer, it’s perfect for a patio party. Oslo side table ($788), by Shine Home, from Hirshfield’s Design Studio, 721 2nd Ave. N., Mpls., 612-374-8901, hirshfields.com

We’re digging how these bud vases mimic the shapes you’d find in a science lab. Hand-blown glass bud vases ($26 each), from Design Within Reach, 2939 Hennepin Ave., Mpls., 612-827-0990, dwr.com
