A nine-foot-long window seat offers an alternative to chairs in the narrow sunroom. To pack the space full of storage, architect Laurel Ulland designed the window seat with drawers below and shelves above. Cubbies at the end of the room hold photo boxes.

A built-in desk ties into a wall of bookshelves, creating an efficient workspace for owner Laura Hoyt. The maple cabinets and tabletop pair well with the room’s other woodwork, which is painted white.

The window seat’s five-foot-wide drawer keeps wrapping paper and ribbons neat and within easy reach. Hoyt found the ceramic drawer pulls at ATAZ at Galleria in Edina.
