Essay
Well, I look African American, but I'm actually Hispanic. I am twenty-two, was born in Panama City, Panama Republic, and traveled to the U.S. with my parents at age nine. I have always had a desire to model. At age sixteen, while at the mall, a lady came up to me and said that she was from a New York modeling agency and wanted me to model, but being a minor, my mother said “no.” When I turned twenty-one, I took some photos and had an agency who wanted me, but I ended up in a coma and had to learn to walk, talk, write, and eat all over again and was unable to follow my desire to model. So I believe I have potential because I've been told so, but all my chances of getting my foot in the door for some reason or another slip away. I was at my desk at work, and we had the radio going, and my co-workers were listening to KDWB and said, “Suzie, you should enter in this modeling competition!” They did not know all that I have been through or the fact that I have a desire to model. So here I am! I am a mother of an eight-month-old baby boy, and surprisingly I only gained five pounds after my son. I am determined, fun, hard-working, and fierce—but definitely not a diva! LOL. If I am picked, I will go all the way; it's GO HARD, OR GO HOME for me! LOL
