Leech Lake Tourism

Leech Lake offers more than a great Minnesota fishing vacation, you'll find fun and recreation, no matter what the season. Lakes, golf, shopping, hunting, ski trails, snowmobile trails...everything you've heard about Minnesota vacations is here. Right here. In the Leech Lake area.

After you’ve selected the perfect Walker resort to vacation at, make sure you check out these activities.

Boating
Waterski or cruise the Leech Lake shoreline - any way you choose, explore hundreds of miles of undeveloped shoreline.

Fishing
Leech Lake is nationally recognized as a gamefish lake, and regarded as a walleye factory. Regularly stocked, it offers an abundance of Northern Pike, Walleye, Jumbo Perch, Bass, Slab Crappies, Blue Gills and an array of Panfish.

Minnesota Golf
The four outstanding Minnesota golf courses in the area offer everything from nine-hole par 3's to challenging full length courses. You'll see signature holes you may never forget. Most open early in the Spring and remain open late into Autumn's peak leaf season.

Hunting
The Autumn months attract hunters from all over the midwest in search of deer, duck and grouse. Many area Hotels, Motels and Resorts remain open through the seasons.

Snowmobiling
There are literally hundreds and hundreds of miles of groomed trails as well as open fields, negotiable forests and frozen lakes available for Minnesota snowmobilers.

Skiing
Both cross country and downhill skiing are available in the area. Miles of trails wind through spectacular forests, and nearby hills are always ready for boarders and others who prefer a bit more speed.

Ice Fishing
Ice Fishing wasn't invented in the Leech Lake area. Just perfected here. All winter long you'll find opportunities to discover the fascination. Rent an icehouse by the day or the weekend or the week. All winter long, everything is biting...but freshwater perch is our specialty.
