There’s always something on our calendars that requires a cocktail dress. Whether we’re shopping for something to wear to a fundraiser, wedding, company party, or bachelorette party, we’ve got our top must-stop shops where we can find something our friend/cousin/sister/coworker won’t also be wearing. P.S.: Many stores now register your dress for the event—for even more peace of mind.
Arafina has everything from punky chic to Glamorama sleek (see picture at left) . . . . Stephanie’s carries both fun and classic styles . . . . Epitome’s selection of styles from well-known brands such as Nicole Miller is great for promgoers and alternative bridesmaids . . . . We know it seems wrong to include a bridal salon here, but trust us, it’s worth a stop at Amy Jane Bridal when you need something basic that won’t break the bank . . . . If you’ve got time to browse, hit up Off 5th, where you’ll find dresses from Saks 5th Avenue department stores across the country . . . . Alfred’s Grand Petit Magasin stocks funky to formal, both new and vintage . . . . Local Motion has locally made dresses you won’t find anywhere else . . . . Macy’s, of course, has a great selection with its Oval Room and Contemporary departments, plus the BCBG boutique is hip for something funkier. BCBG’s outlet in Albertville is also well worth the drive.
