Pink Champagne

Former model and fashion industry veteran Amy Briesemeister’s life’s work has culminated in her latest undertaking, Pink Champagne (5454 Nicollet Ave., Mpls., 612-825-0400). This Tangletown boutique brims with luxury fashions and items for home and body, and Briesemeister used her industry knowledge to create a store she says was missing in the local boutique scene.

“Twin Citians have a high level of expectation in boutique shopping,” Briesemeister says, “so I had to make sure I did it right—the merchandise, the décor—the total package needed to come together.”

And it has.

Although nothing about the storefront screams luxury or fashion, everything about the interior is spot on. The soothing, muted gold walls are decorated with pieces done by a local artist, tiny pink chandeliers dangle over the silk-draped dressing rooms, and the merchandise is presented in vignettes to make browsing and shopping easy.

To stay up to date on industry trends, this chic shopkeeper visits markets in LA and New York four times a year, but is careful to make sure everything she brings into her store is of the highest quality and is something she would wear. The look is young, hot, Hollywood—the Sienna Kooba Bag, Tag denim, PJs by Scanty—but with a Minnesotan’s sensibility—long-sleeve Ts, leather riding boots, cozy robes. In addition to women’s wear there’s also organic skin-care products by Suki, men’s jeans, and woven button downs, and for the trendy pooch,  sweaters and accessories.
