Sporting Goods

June 2009

By Melissa Colgan

Wispy dresses with pockets, racer-back tanks, and slouchy beach shorts—not to mention running pants, hoodies, and body suits—are all being touted by designers this season. While these styles are made for movement, we don’t exactly advocate wearing them while breaking a sweat. They have an air of utility, sure, but they’re far too pretty and delicate for the gym.

Little White Dress

Little White Dress

Sure, there’s something safe about the LBD, but warmer temps call for the pure innocence of achromatic white. The crisp tailoring of this cotton shift is timeless, but the exposed zipper running up the back adds a hint of trend. Exposed zipper dress by D&G, $525.
