Three-Part Therapy![]() Photo by Stephanie Colgan
The new CorePower Yoga & Spa in Edina is an oasis for serenity, self reward, and rejuvenation—and the first thing guests are asked to do is remove their shoes. “It’s not simply because it’s a traditional yoga thing or to keep the space serene,” says studio and spa director Nielle Arnold. “It’s because something happens when you slip off your shoes. You’re able to energetically start something new.”
The contemporary 6,200-square-foot space offers something truly distinct: a three-part haven for modern yogis, combining yoga studio, spa, and retail boutique in one spot, accessible to newcomers and enthusiasts. The idea was sparked when Arnold was teaching yoga part-time and working full-time in sales. She was approached by one of her students, Bob Ernst, an executive for whom yoga had transformed his life emotionally, physically, and spiritually. “Nielle, I want one of these,” he said. Arnold said goodbye to her stress-filled job, and devoted herself to the center with Ernst’s support. Since opening in mid-May, the center has hosted about sixty classes a week, including beginner yoga, hot yoga, and high-energy Yoga Sculpt. Arnold and Ernst’s touches are in everything from the classes to the nature-inspired artwork on the walls. They’ve chosen upscale lines such as Karma, Lululemon, and Margarita in the retail boutique, as well as eco-chic pieces by local designers, books, CDs, mats, and jewelry. A quaint beauty section showcases the luxurious lotions, candles, and soaps by Lotus Love Beauty and skin-care products by I Image and Om Aroma & Co. used in the spa. From Earthly Elements (hot stone massage) to Sun Salutations for the Skin (exfoliating facial followed by hydration), everything takes inspiration from yoga. “When we say we’re yoga for the masses, part of our responsibility is to make sure every aspect is inviting,” says Arnold. “And that means everyone—of all sizes, backgrounds, lifestyles—can come here to have a customized retreat.” Centennial Lakes Plaza, 7495 France Ave. S., Edina, 952-835-9642
