How: Less than two hours by air. Direct flights on NWA were roughly $275 at presstime.

Stay: Check out the regal Columbia Club, with reciprocal privileges for members of the Minneapolis Club, University Club, and Woman’s Club. Canterbury Hotel (800-538-8186) has unique rooms, priced from $189 (and turn-down chocolate truffles too).

Eat: An Indy institution, the indoor/outdoor Rathskeller (317-636-0396) is a Munich–style beer hall with a German menu, bar, and entertainment. It's open late, so you won’t have to cut the movie short.

Pack: Eyeglasses and tissues for studying the big screen and any surprise tearjerkers.
