You asked: I am 30 years old, and my fiancé is 35. This will be my second marriage but the first for him. What would you suggest for registry? Do we forgo it? What is the appropriate way to approach this?

Heidi Says: It’s not uncommon to create a registry in this scenario. Your guests who want to give gifts will greatly appreciate it. If you don’t have a lot of specifics that you need, suggesting gift certificates for your favorite home and décor stores can help you fully outfit your shared life. If your nest is completely feathered and you don’t find yourself wanting something for your home, you may consider other alternatives such as travel registries that help guests chip in for your honeymoon. If you really don’t want gifts, perhaps you could suggest some favored charities that guests can contribute to in your honor.
