You asked: My fiancé and I have both been married before. We want our wedding ceremony to include only our family members and our closest friends. We are considering having a casual reception the next day for those included plus all of our other friends and co-workers. Is it OK to do this? Should we not call it a reception but a celebration party?

Heidi Says: Congratulations! Sounds like a celebration to me! Many couples—especially those planning second weddings, destination weddings, or even some craving a more intimate wedding day event—are throwing fun post-nuptial parties to welcome friends and family into this new chapter of their shared lives. Whatever you choose to call it, this after-the-fact event can be a fun, creative, and relaxing way for you to mix, mingle, and enjoy a more casual celebration with special guests.
