Next Season's Dresses and Accessories

Mpls.St.Paul Magazine Weddings Fall/Winter 2009

By Melissa Colgan

Taking inspiration from couture—layers of diaphanous tulle gathered at an empire waist, organic silk woven into a sleeved and fluted trumpet silhouette, asymmetrically wrapped organza with floral appliqués—but with elements uniquely bridal, it’s a gown’s distinctive attributes that arouse refined tastes.

A Cut Above

Simplicity meets drama in asymmetrical tailoring, with a one-shoulder neckline softened by organza floral appliqués.

Mikado one-shoulder gown ($5,280), by Angel Sanchez, and bracelet ($350), by Penny Larsen, both from L’atelier Couture. Vintage floral brooch ($195, worn in hair), from Che Bella.
