Every newlywed couple hopes to make off with a sparkling assortment of fabulous home accessories. Even so, brides and grooms can take care to register for gifts that go easy on the environment. Check out these local options for green gift registries, a trend that’s still in its infancy.

Twin Cities Green

This Uptown boutique that does eco-friendly with flair offers bridal and baby registries. Couples can register for gifts at the storefront on Hennepin Avenue, or shop online on the store’s website, greengiftsonline.com. From sculptural works made of repurposed metals to utilitarian hemp shower curtains and bamboo towel sets, newlyweds can feather their love nest with minimal environmental impact. 2405 Hennepin Ave. S., Mpls., 612-374-4581, greengiftsonline.com

REI

When two nature lovers tie the knot, they might consider a registry at REI. Even if the camp gear they covet isn’t sustainably manufactured, the store stocks heaps of eco-friendly clothing and accessories. REI also goes to great lengths to reduce its environmental impact. Every year, the company donates millions of dollars to conservation efforts throughout the U. S. Now that’s a great way to share the love. Three metro locations, including 750 W. American Blvd., Bloomington, 952-884-4315, rei.com

Olive & Myrtle

This St. Paul–based online eco boutique boasts plenty of Earth-friendly household goods, such as linens, candles, and photo frames, as well as wooden mixing bowls and other kitchen items. Launched in January 2009 by a former Target art director, the retailer’s price points are reasonable. Olive & Myrtle’s aesthetic leans toward the contemporary—think clean lines, minimalist forms, and neutral hues with occasional splashes of bright color. 651-224-4327, oliveandmyrtle.com
